01 How does the 14-day free trial work?
The Starter plan includes a 14-day free trial. Your trial begins when you approve the subscription through Shopify during the MarginLab installation and billing process.
During the trial, you can explore Starter features, including profitability analytics, product margin analysis, the Tax-Aware Profit Engine and reporting tools.
02 What is included in the Starter plan?
Starter includes the core MarginLab profitability experience: the profit dashboard, product-level margin analysis, Profit Intelligence, profit leak detection, margin risk signals and profitability recommendations.
It also includes the Tax-Aware Profit Engine, CSV exports, PDF reports, product-level email alerts and email support.
03 What additional features does Growth include?
Growth includes everything in Starter and adds advanced tools designed to help you decide how to improve profitability.
These include AI Advisor Pro, Recovery Simulator, profit forecasting, Profit Assumptions, the Alert Center and direct WhatsApp support.
04 Is the Tax-Aware Profit Engine included in both plans?
Yes. The Tax-Aware Profit Engine is included in both Starter and Growth because understanding the real economics of a sale should not depend on choosing the more expensive plan.
MarginLab uses your configured tax settings to help distinguish gross amounts from underlying revenue, costs and profitability where applicable.
Available tax functionality depends on your store location, applicable tax profile and configured settings.
05 How is my MarginLab subscription billed?
MarginLab subscriptions are managed through Shopify Billing. Your subscription is approved through Shopify and charges are handled through Shopify’s normal billing process.
You do not need to manage a separate subscription billing platform outside your Shopify environment.
06 Can I upgrade from Starter to Growth?
Yes. You can choose the Growth plan through the MarginLab billing experience when you need advanced tools such as AI Advisor Pro, Recovery Simulator, forecasting and the Alert Center.
Plan changes and subscription approval are managed through Shopify’s billing process.
07 Can I cancel my subscription at any time?
Yes. MarginLab does not require a long-term commitment. You can manage your subscription through the options available in MarginLab and Shopify, or stop using the app by uninstalling it.
Future billing and subscription changes follow the applicable Shopify billing process.
08 Are alerts included in Starter?
Yes. Starter includes product-level email alerts to help you stay informed when profitability deserves attention.
Growth includes those alerts and adds the Alert Center, which provides a more advanced way to organize and review important changes and profitability priorities.
09 Does MarginLab change product prices automatically?
No. MarginLab helps you understand profitability through analysis, recommendations and, where available, simulations and forecasting.
Pricing, product costs and business decisions remain under your control.
10 Do the free calculators require a paid subscription?
No. MarginLab calculators and educational resources can be used independently from the Shopify app.
A paid subscription applies to the relevant MarginLab features available inside your Shopify store.
11 What support is included with each plan?
Starter includes email support for questions about your account, subscription and MarginLab features.
Growth includes email support and adds direct WhatsApp support.
